This Vase explores the intersection of memory, fragmentation, and nostalgia. By incorporating shattered blue and white porcelain with delicate figurines, the work evokes the tension between preservation and loss. The porcelain shards symbolize fractured histories, while the figurines, each carefully placed, represent the resilience of human stories, emotions, and connections.
At the center, a child-like figure reflects innocence and sentimentality. Surrounding figures seem to emerge from the vase, as though caught between the past and present, between being forgotten and being remembered.
Through this assemblage, I invite viewers to reflect on the fragility of tradition, the layers of personal and collective history, and the beauty found in imperfection. This work is not merely about breaking and rebuilding; it is about honoring what remains.
